Are these images "Royalty Free"?
No.
These images are Rights Protected. A License Agreement based on image usage
will be negotiated before high resolution images will be delivered. To avoid a
violation of copyright, any other usage than what is stated in the License
Agreement must be negotiated and purchased. See "Price Quote" on main
tool bar for information required to determine price.
How much does it cost to use one of these images?
Price is based on a variety of criteria including print run,
type of publication, size the image is used at, and placement. For web usage,
criteria such as duration, placement, and circulation are used to set prices.
If you click on Price Quotes above and fill out the form stating your usage
intent, I will respond with a quote. You may also call me directly at
518/393-9460 and ask for a quote.
How do I search for photographs here?
Enter
keywords in the search box that illustrate the concept(s) you are reseaching.
Understanding my category and keyword organization will probably speed your
search process.
How can I use the Category and Keyword lists to speed
up my search?
If you
start your search knowing what kinds of words I have used for many typical
situations, you will probably find what you need more quickly. My category list
contains 52 main categories from Age to Work. The keyword list shows the same
52 main categories in addition to the keywords organized as subcategories below
them. To access this list, go back to the home page and (at the far right)
click on "Use my Category & Keyword Lists to speed searches".
What kind of pictures will you find in my archives?
As
you can see from browsing my web site, I specialize in education and
family-related subjects. I provide clients with candid, on-location,
model-released images of multicultural children in school, family, and nature
settings. My photos appear in children's trade and editorial books, magazines
(both consumer and professional journals), government publications, and
textbooks from kindergarten to college level. To see examples, go to www.ellensenisi.com and
select Published Works or Photography options on the home page. However, I have
archived everything from recent years so don’t be surprised if you also see
photographs of iguanas, Scottish lochs, playing mah jongg in Beijing, or teen
musicians.
Are the people in these photographs model-released; if
so, how can I tell?
The
vast majority are model released. If the first line of the description field
contains the letters "MR", I do have model releases for the people in
that photograph.
Are these all of my images?
No. I have about five thousand slides that have not been
scanned yet. I also usually have a back up of around five hundred digital
images waiting to be archived and added to this collection. Please contact me
if you see something close to meeting your needs but not exactly right - I just
might have it.
What do I do when I have selected the images
I would like to license?
You may send me a Price Quote (see tool bar above).
Alternatively, you may proceed to my contact information and either call
or email me so we can set up a license agreement. I have opted for this system
rather than a Shopping Cart because that is how my clients (photo researchers
and educational publishers) do business.
How will images be delivered?
Images
can be delivered in a variety of ways. They can be uploaded to a client’s
server; downloaded from my web site by a client; or sent by mail on CD or DVD
with the client paying shipping costs. When you contact me, please state your
preferred method of delivery.
What are typical image sizes and quality in this
collection?
The
images I deliver will be high-resolution tiff files, unless another format is
requested. Approximately 85% of my images are digital images; those taken on
the Nikon D1x are 17MB in size; those from the D2x are 34MB. The rest are film
scans and are either 18MB (from commercial scans) to 50MB (done in my office).
Do you have any Pricing Agreements with publishers?
Yes,
I am a Pearson Preferred Vendor (PPV) so work within the standard rate schedule
for Pearson and its imprints.
Kids, Parents, and Teachers photographed by Ellen
Senisi: How do I find pictures of myself or my kids in these archives?
You can look up pictures of yourself or your kids by typing
your model release code into the search box. Contact me by e-mail if you need
that code.
If I'm not a photo researcher or publisher
but I want one of these photographs for my wall how can I get one?
Prints of nature photographs or other images that do not show people
are available. To protect the privacy of the people I photograph, I will not
make or distribute prints of children or adults to anyone except their
immediate family members. Family members who would like prints of your child
should contact me via email about your needs with a phone number and I will
call you back to verify contact information on your child's signed model
release form before sending you prints. If you are interested in ordering a
photograph without people, go to "Price Quote" and in the box that
says "List image numbers and sizes " write Personal Use and the size
print you would like, and I will communicate with you on how to proceed. Prints
from Ellen Senisi Image Archives are for personal use only - they may not be
copied or reproduced, appear in any publication, nor may they be used for
business or commerce.
